How to root your Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360

Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 can be rooted with this tutorial easily.You can root Samsung Galaxy Y running Gingerbread 2.3.5 and 2.3.6. After rooting your mobile, you can install custom ROM’s, install some applications which requires root access.

Below is the step by step Tutorial:
STEP-1 : Download the file update.zip from here

STEP-2 : Connect your Samsung Galaxy Y to your computer

STEP-3 : Copy the downloaded file (update.zip) to the root of your SD card

Note: If you are accessing this page and downloading the file through your Android phone, then skip step number 2.

STEP-4 : After you have copied the file update.zip to the root of your SD card, turn off the Galaxy Young.

STEP-5 : Then turn it ON again, but this time go to Recovery Mode. Press power, volume up and home button together.

STEP-6 : Your Galaxy Young will boot into a BIOS like display, choose apply update from sdcard. Use volume up and down to scroll, and home screen as enter.








STEP-7 : Browse through the files and choose update.zip and hit the home button to begin the rooting.

STEP-8 : Wait until your Samsung Galaxy Y finishes updating.

STEP-9 : And your done! Your Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 is now be rooted !!!




How to know if your Galaxy Young S5360 is already Rooted? 
You should be able to see the Superuser icon in your Galaxy Y.


*** This tutorial will also work on Samsung Galaxy Y Duos, Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Ace Duos and some other Android 2.3 Devices.

  6. Just rooted my Galaxy y, I have to admit I was scared of rooting my phone at first because of bricking my phone but I trusted the Lord, My android phone was successfully rooted although, I don't know what to actually do with my rooted phone, THANKYOU LORD AND UPLOADER!!!!

    The zip file name was "update_www.droidgo.info.zip"

    After rooting on running the superuser it says there are some more features that can be availed in elite version. What is that? How can we access that? Please let us know.

    but failed.
    after entering into recovery mode
    and choosing "apply update from sdcard"
    it shows the
    "E:failed to mount /sdcard (no such file or directory)
    E:Can't mount /sdcard"
    .
    please somebody what is this and what should i do to root
    my galaxy y.

  10. Was your phone still plugged into your USB cable? If so that's why.

  11. You also have to put the file on the root of the sd card, meaning not inside of any folders. Some phones can be picky about the file name. If so just rename it to something with no spaces or symbols in it.

    All you have got to do is the following:

    go to your phone settings, sd card phone storage, unmount sd, format sd and try doing this thread from beginning step by step again thank you for this tread bro i dont know who you are but thank you and keep it up this is all genuine guys enjoy
